___
Children in most cases are natural communicators. However, some adults are not comfortable when it comes to having a conversation with a four-year-old. If this applies to you, here are some ideas you might try:
___
πRead a book and ask the child questions about the story. That should give you a good back and forth discussion about the story characters and events.
___
πTake a trip to the grocery store, post office or other community location and discuss what goes on at those places and why they are useful to your family and others.
___
π£Set aside time in the evenings to talk about your day. Share events from your job, volunteer work or other activities and allow your child to do the same about school, daycare or wherever they spent the day.
___
These prompts should get you talking and lead to additional opportunities to keep the conversation flowing.
___
What ways have you found that work well when communicating with your children?
